New Braunfels is a city located in the state of Texas. Its population is about 60,761 as of 2012 census. The word Braunfels signifies brown rock" in German. The citys establishment was done in 1845 by Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels. The city lies over 29.4 square miles of which 29.2 square miles of it is land and what left water.

The city hosts several events including for example the Wurstfest or what it is referred to as "sausage festival" which is held every year in November and features the German heritage of the city. And in December, another great event takes place; its the Wassailfest. Every year, the city is visited by a great number of tourists because it has a lot of attractions including the cold-spring Rivers that run through the city and different parks that spread all around.
When you are in the city, dont miss the chance of visiting some special places like the Texas Tubes or take some time to visit Canyon Lake which is considered one of the deepest lakes around the state of Texas. And if you still have some time and need a place to go to, choose the Guadalupe River situated at the bottom of Canyon Lake.
